MHS:
You guys describe yourselves as, Piano Pop Garage Rock, correct?

Nathan:
That's the nut of it, yeah.

MHS:
Can you elaborate on that a bit?

Nathan:
Well Max is the creative force behind the band in a lot of ways. He brings the tunes in and then we arrange and enlarge them, but the kernel is always his piano. Even when it's not the most present or prevalent instrument, piano is the core of what we do.

MHS:
I have heard a lot of good things about your playing as well-- how long have you been at it and who are some of your influences?

wreckloose okNathan:
Thank you! I picked up the guitar when I was 14. My first inspiration was Pete Townshend, who's rhythm style I completely ripped off. Acoustically I model myself after Paul Simon as well.
Within the band I take a lot my cues from George Harrison. He was a master at playing a "part" that complimented the rest of the band, rather than just hacking at the chords and then ripping a solo. I'm always looking for the best way to fit between the drums, bass, and piano, and to add a sonic signature, which is, I think, the way George Harrison approached his parts as well.
I should say, I consider myself a lo-fi photocopy of these people. I'm not suggesting I rise to their level even a little bit.

MHS:
You're having a release party in June at James Street. Any plans to tour?

Nathan:
Yeah! we're starting end of June into July. Mostly Midwest, near South and Northeast

MHS:
That's awesome. Where can people get the album?

Nathan:
Well right now they can pre-order it at www.pledgemusic.com/projects/OKWreckLoose
where they can also get exclusive t-shirt designs and other merch that won't be available after the release
but after June 16th we'll have it on our band camps(wreckloose.bandcamp.com)
as well as on iTunes, Spotify and our website (wrecklooseband.com) or they can come see us play!
